Scarce history on the founding of Riverside by Louis Roubidoux who purchased many acres of land from Don Juan Bandini at twenty-five cents an acre. He then established the first grist mill there from which he supplied flour to Fremont’s troops. Much on Spanish rule; Mexican administration; the Bandini Grant; American occupation of California; early pioneers; Judge J.W.
