SIGNED "Pat B" in blue ink on State of California, Governor's Office, Sacramento, CA letterhead, August 19, 1964. Addressed to Mr. Aime Michand. "Dear Mr. Michand: It would give me great pleasure if you would be my guest at dinner at the World Trade club on September 3rd. I would like to have a chance to talk to you about plans for a dinner, of which I am chairman, honoring our new U.S. Senator Pierre Salinger. Would you let my San Francisco secretary, Al Anolik, (UN 1-8700) know if you can be with me? Sincerely, Edmund G. Brown, Governor. Cocktails 7:00pm; Dinner 8:00pm." Down the right side of the page Mr. Michand has written in ink to his secretary "Tell them I'll come & how to spell my name. Remind me to *** my trip. P.S. he also said a number invited are Republicans, including the Governor." At the bottom of the page, the secretary has typed an affirmative response and that Mr. Anolik has corrected his name with apologies. Fine condition (two punched holes at top of page). Item #15233

At the time of this letter Mr. Aime Michaud (correct spelling) was with the Draper Companies in San Francisco. He was also added to the board of the Del Monte Properties Company in Pebble Beach, CA and was named President. During his tenure, he saw getting the U.S. Open as a personal commitment to Samuel F.
