A souvenir book for the participants of the second Hotel Mens Mutual Benefit Association tour to California. In 1910 the H.M.M.B.A. set about to conduct a pleasure trip across the continent for its members. Three special trains were luxuriously outfitted and George Wharton James was, once again, called upon to document the junket. His account is a fascinating description of what an upper class travel looked like in the early twentieth century with ostrich and airplane rides, first class hotels, sumptious menus, and entertainment that included real Chinamen smoking real opium. (Controversial James #42).
