Based on the prolific career of Mr. Mayes, the book shows dozens of his residences and commercial buildings, along with this Denison native's life story. Mr. Mayes was truly an architect of the people. He continued to design residential buildings until his death in 1966. His houses line many streets in Denison, Sherman and surrounding towns.
