Oblong 8vo. 24 pp (unnumbered). 22 numbered reproductions of old Cuban prints from the collection owned by Conrado W. Massaguer; nine of the prints are from Andueza's Isla de Cuba, 1841. Engraved and printed by "Sindicato de Artes Graficas de la Habana." Two color lithographs (7 1/4 x 9 1/4") of colonial homes in Cuba, laid in. Stiff grey string-tied wrappers with black lettering and ruling to front cover. Light smudging to front cover else a fine copy of an uncommon look at early Cuba; only 3 copies noted in online institutions. Item #17446

Selection of odd pictures of the colonial days from the Massaguer collection. "As little as there is of the art which is distinctively identified with the early days of Cuba, the island republic is nevertheless famous for numerous collections of old prints and engravings. It is from [the Conrado W. Massaguer] collection thta selections have been mde for this album which is being published for the purpose of offering the American visitor an example of Cuban Art." - Intro. The publisher intended for this album to be the first in a series but research indicates this is the only album published.
