Japan: ca. 1880s. Album measures 4 1/2 x 7"; the hand-colored original photographs measure 3 3/4 x 5 1/2" (some with tissue guards and manuscript titles). Half of the images depict Japanese women of various ages in native dress and the other half are landscapes, buildings, native peoples going about their daily activities and more. Accordion style album with brown cloth covered wood covers. No photographer name given. Album has been professionally restored; cloth is worn and lacking in various spots; some dampstaining; fading to some images. Item #17577
