An oral history of Sandor Salgo, conducted by Caroline Crawford from 1994-1996 as part of the Regional Oral History Office's effort to interview leading participants in or well-placed witnesses to major events in the development of Northern California, the West, and the Nation. Sandor Salgo (1909-2007) was a Hungarian-born Jewish composer, conductor, and violist who emigrated to America in 1937. Sandor and his wife, Priscilla, began directing the Carmel Bach festival in 1956 and turned it into an internationally acclaimed festival.
