One of the best and most wanted of James' work. While the book is titled "My Life Story," it appears that the details up until his mid-teens are entirely fiction, the rest of the book is a blend of fact and fiction. "The best one is his first, written before he became sophisticated with life - without becoming in the right way more sophisticated with life - without becoming in the right way more sophisticated in the arts of drawing and writing." - Dobie pg. 108. (Frazier p. 40).
