'The Writings of John Muir' complete in 10 octavo volumes + 'The Life and Letters of John Muir' by William Frederic Bade complete in two octavo volumes in original publisher's green buckram, brown leather labels with gilt-stamped lettering on spines. An original manuscript leaf in Muir's hand (part of his description of the White Silver Fir in Chapter VIII of 'The Mountains of California') is tipped to the front flyleaf of Volume 1 of The Writings. Spines are somewhat sunned with chipped labels. Many volumes' corners are rounded and extremities are worn (with some silverfishing and occasional light foxing), still the bindings are strong and the set is in Good to Very Good condition. Edited by William Frederic Bade, each volume contains a photogravure frontispiece, with additional photographic plates throughout the text, including many photogravures after Herbert W.
