The club has a single 18-hole course, one of eight on the Monterey peninsula near Monterey, California. The course is well known for a series of dramatic holes that play along the Pacific Ocean that have been named as some of the best in golf. [1][2][3][4] The Cypress Point Club course opened on August 11, 1928. Byington Ford, Roger D. Lapham, and Marion Hollins were trailblazers for the project.[5] The course was designed in 1928 by golf course designer Alister MacKenzie, collaborating with fellow golf course architect Robert Hunter.
