Pete Johnson (born Kermit H. Johnson, 1904 – 1967) was an American boogie-woogie and jazz pianist. "Johnson was one of the three great boogie-woogie pianists (along with Lewis and Ammons) whose sudden prominence in the late 1930s helped make the style very popular". - Journalist Scott Yanow (Allmusic). Following a series of strokes and other health issues, the author undertook to publish Pete Johnson's life story with all proceeds going to assist Johnson during his difficult times.
