"I don't think there's another katchina that has a greater variety of details in the costuming than Mushaish [Mosairu] -The Buffalo." - The Year of the Hopi. Jo Mora lived among the Hopi during the years 1904-1906. During that time, he was accepted by the Hopi and allowed to capture them through paintbrush and camera before their ceremonies and original dress were lost to time and progress. He completed 41 original watercolors, of which 8 were ever printed. (Grandeau & Shorts OC2).
