The issue serves as a promotional for San Benito County, with sketches of the towns and information on agricultural and business opportunities. The front cover presents an elaborate map of the vicinity from Hollister to Monterey Bay, with appropriate Grand Army of the Republic mementoes, in full color lithography by "Dickman Jones & Hettrich, Lith., San Francisco," with inset of agricultural related scenes. The rear wrapper, also in lovely full color lithography, presents "views of famous summer & winter resorts situated on the line of the Northern Div. Southern Pacific Company adjacent to San Benito Co." The views include bird's-eyes of Pacific Grove, Camp Capital, Paraiso Springs, Santa Cruz, and Hollister and an image of the Hotel Del Monte in verdant surroundings, all presented on the various parts of a G.A.R. reunion medal.
