Brown cloth spine over brown paper covered boards in publish'ers tan & green illustrated dustjacket. A near fine copy (front hinge starting to crack) with a hint of wear. Item #20293

Rambling, amusing recollections of boyhood in Marin County, California in the 1870's, ranching in Nevada, farming in Nebraska, & other experiences in Mississippi, New Mexico, Lower California, & Mexico. With a chapter on the Apaches. An ardent conservationist, Kent later became a U.S. congressman (he was the lead sponsor of legislation in the House of Representatives establishing the National Park Service), and today he is best remembered for donating to the federal government the land that became Muir Woods National Monument.
