Riata and Spurs: The Story of a Lifetime Spent in the Saddle as Cowboy and Detective

New York: Houghton Mifflin, 1927. First Edition, first issue (unsuppressed). 8vo. xiv, [2], 276 pp. Introduction by Gifford Pinchot, with illustrations. Brown cloth in publisher's illustrated dustjacket. Small stain marks to upper front corner else fine in near fine dustjacket (darkening to spine with some wear; brown tape reinforcement on verso). Still, one of the nicest copies we've seen on the scarce unsuppressed issue; only a few copies of the original printing survived the legal issue which required suppression of real names and references to the Pinkerton Detective Agency. Item #20535
