This scarce booklet contains the twelve striking magazine advertisements for Hotel Del Monte which appeared serially, one a month, throughout 1934. Each image is titled and includes a brief description of the image and historical information about the Hotel Del Monte and the Monterey Peninsula. The image titles include: The Harbor of Refuge; The Month Was December; California Began Here; Mother of the Missions; The Reward of the Pathfinder; To Live Long and Without Care; Trials the Caballeros Rode; Yankee vs. Caballero; Manana; Monterey Surrenders; Old Spain Still Lives; and Heritage of a Romantic Past. Subsequent to the advertising having appeared in the magazine advertisements, the Hotel Del Monte decided to use the same artwork on their menus; a complimentary set could be had simply by asking the waiter.
