Memoirs of the controversial Oklahoma politician William "Alfalfa Bill" Murray (1869-1956). A Democrat, he helped lead Oklahoma to statehood in 1907, served as the state's first Speaker of the House, was elected to the national House of Representatives, then served as Governor from 1931-35. He was also a racist, with passages in his "Memoir" such as: "The Negro has very little book learning, but he has wonderful practical sense. That is why he makes such a good servant and porter. You take the ordinary Jew. He is wonderfully 'smart' in certain lines . . . but he does not possess the common, practical sense that the Negro has." - PBA.
