An unremarkble book, made remarkable by being owned by prisoner of war Captain Arthur Laurence Fleet during his time in camp Oflag VII-B, Eichstatt,/Bayern. Fleet has inked ffep 'Arthur Fllet/Captain, Royal Marines/Eichstatt,/Bayern/10 - VI- 44' to ffep, which also bears the camp censor's stamp. A Trinity College, Oxford graduate, Fleet was captured during the evacuation of Crete and was a POW (No. 3350) in German captivity from 1941 until April 1945. He returned to Oxford in 1963 as Deputy Registrar until retirement in 1982. Item #21347
