INSCRIBED "This, my second attempt at novel writing, was done in a great hurry and doubtless shows it but in it is a character like Cherry Malotte, who persisted in being written over again in "The Winds of Chance." Rex Beach' 8vo. 309, [1] pp. 6 color plates (including tissue-protected frontispiece) illustrated by Denman Fink. Pictorial brown cloth with black lettering; housed in custom 1/4 brown morocco (light scraping to spine ends) and cloth slipcase, also lettered in gold and brown cloth chemise. Minor wear to extremities & shelfwear; front hinge starting; minor spots on page edges; else a near fine copy. Item #21584

After five years prospecting for gold in Alaska, Beach wrote this, his second Alaskan tale. The story has been made into three films, one starring Lionel Barrymore and the last featuring Leo Carrillo (the Cisco Kid's 'Pancho!').
