Fire on the Hills (broadside)

[Amador City, CA]: Letterpress printed by Linomarl (Marlan Beilke) at the Quintessence Printing Museum. [1990]. Limited No. 29 of 49 copies. Broadside (14" x 10") printed on cream cover stock in black and brown; right edge deckled. Set in Intertype Pen-Bold, what was introduced in 1927, and based upon Pen Print Bold of the Inland Type Foundry in 1911. The slight back-slant of this face - combined with its blackness - suggest the immediacy of this poem, as if the poet had just returned to Tor House to write - with the memory of his hike still fresh in mind. Fine condition. Item #21658

Marlan Beilke, as recorded in HIS PLACE FOR STORY: ROBINSON JEFFERS: A DESCRIPTIVE BIBLIOGRAPHY by Michael Broomfield, published more Jeffers’ pieces than any other publisher.
