Barbara Mary Campbell wrote under the pseudonym of CAM. She studied at Clapham School of Art, St. Martin's and Central Schools of Art. During World War II she worked in the Land Army and in the long evenings she wrote and illustrated her first book 'Barbara Lamb'. She went on to write and illustrate about ten children's books, including 'The Three Jolly...', series in the early 1950's before beginning to make models for exhibitions at such places as the Imperial Institute and the Science Museum.
