Real Photo Postcard of Ludwig Wullner (INSCRIBED)
Berlin: 1909. 3 1/4" x 5 1/4" real photo postcard, signed in the plate, of the German opera and lieder tenor "... regarded as one of the most versatile and important stage performers of his time." (Wiki). On the verso of the card Wullner has inscribed the first line of "Ich komme vom gebirge her - - (Schubert: Der Wanderer) s/Ludwig Wullner". The original photograph was by Nicola Perscheid. Dr. Wullnerlikely signed the postcard for a young Angelino pianist, Kendal Frost, during his visit to Los Angeles where, accompanied by pianist Conrad Bos, he performed Schubert's 'Der Wanderer' on December 3, 1909 at the Simpson Auditorium in Los Angeles.
