First Edition. 24 stereograph cards with photographs with text on the verso of many of the cards, in a slipcase distributed by Underwood & Underwood and produced by Sun Sculpture Works and Studios of Arlington and Westwood, New Jersey, documenting locations and geographical features in Yosemite National Park, accompanied by a guide book by Charles Quincy Turner and a folding color map which details the views of the stereograph images in the landscape; the map is titled "Yosemite Valley Showing Wagon-Roads and Trails". The 70-page guide book includes a brief history of Yosemite National Park, instructions on using the stereoscope, and extended captions for each image. 23 view cards are copyright 1902 and one is copyright 1901. Most images include men and women situated in the landscape. Overviews of valleys include Yosemite Valley and Little Yosemite Valley, and the canyons, Glacier Canyon and Tenaya Canyon. Images of water features include lakes, Mirror Lake and Tenaya Lake, and waterfalls, Bridalveil Fall, Nevada Fall, Ribbon Fall, Vernal Falls, and Yosemite Falls. Geological features include the Sierra Nevada mountain range; various summits including El Capitan, Clouds Rest, Half Dome, Liberty Cap, Matterhorn Peak, Mount Watkins, North Dome, and Three Brothers, which consist of the peaks of Eagle Peak, Middle Brother, and Lower Brother; and the cliffs of Cathedral Rocks, Glacier Point, and Yosemite Point. Other images include a view of the Sentinel Hotel and the Zig Zag Trail. The photographic cards and guide book are contained in a plain brown cased with slightly faded gilt lettering on spine. The cards and guide book are complete and in fine condition; scarce thus. Item #22075
