[104] pp. Fifty full-page lithographs of Yosemite; 2-page map showing "Summer Resorts of the Pacific Coast Adjacent to the Lines of the Central and Southern Pacific Railroads." The date is taken from an included schedule dated 1881 of rail and stage service between San Francisco and Yosemite Valley via Clark's (Wawona). Publisher's color pictorial wrappers. Light wear to covers and spine; small loss of paper at upper spine; internally clean; a near fine copy and the nicest one we've seen. Item #22276
All but two of the plates are of the Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Big Tree Grove; the other two are of two great California hotels of the time: The Palace in San Francisco and the Hotel Del Mar in San Diego. The lithographs were made by E. Wyttenbach, most based on photographs taken by George Fiske. (Currey & Kruska #100).
