Whittier Narrows Dam is a flood control and water conservation project constructed and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District. Construction of the project was completed in 1957. The project is located, as its name implies, at the "Whittier Narrows", a natural gap in the hills that form the southern boundary of the San Gabriel Valley. The brochure panels include descriptions of History; Flood Control; Construction; Operation; Benefits; Recreation; and Statistics.
