The Mission Play, by John S. McGroarty, was a three-hour pageant portraying the history of the California missions. Performed in San Gabriel, Ca, it was first staged on April 29, 1912 across from the San Gabriel Mission. In 1927 the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse was constructed to house the production. The date of this edition of the Program is determined by the statement "Thirteenth Year" on Page 28. Includes background on the play and the soon to be built Mission Play House; a detailed description of the play and acts; and list of cast members.
