Gazette du Bon Ton. Art, Mode et Frivolités. Numerous Plates from Janvier, Avril and Juillet 1914 issues.
London, Paris & Berlin: William Heinemann (Pour l'Angleterre), 1914. Paperback. The 'Gazette du Bon Ton' was a French fashion magazine published from 1912 to 1925, blending high fashion, art, and lifestyle with a focus on elegance and exclusivity. Known for its exquisite illustrations, it showcased designs from leading couturiers like Poiret, Worth, and Lanvin, often using the pochoir technique—hand-stenciled watercolor plates that brought vibrant detail to each page. Its artists defined the Art Deco aesthetic, creating iconic images of the modern woman. Published on fine paper and sold by subscription, it was aimed at an elite audience, setting it apart from mass-market rivals like Vogue. Each of the three 20 x 25.5 cm issue is well-worn with some loss, especially at spine, and contains numerous additional charming hors-texte illustrations and advertisements, some full-page.
