(Santa Fe, NM): 1994. A limited-edition artist book (of unknown number of copies), crafted on a large, folding untreated linen canvas (21" x 29", folding to 5 1/4" x 7 1/4"), featuring hand-painted images of Phoctal Monastery (a remote Buddhist monastery in Ladakh, known for its cliffside architecture) and Green Tara (a Buddhist deity symbolizing compassion and protection) in alternation. The images were xeroxed onto Thai Unryu Greeen paper and then hand-painted. The images are sen onto the linen canvas and stabilized with a PVC emulsion. The cloth can be hung on a wall or folded as a book. Housed in a cloth case with hand-painted color image of Green Tara hand-sewn on front cover, surrounded by green and brown beads; bone beads attached at each corner. Two manuscript personalized notecards from Janet Rodney to the owner, providing information about the art cloth book and other personal messages. She references this cloth book as one of her "Ladakh cloth books", this one being her last copy. Fine condition. Item #22732
