A doll's-house of book-plates! 'All the book-plates here illustrated were designed by Mr. Gardner C. Teall for certain of his little friends, and their appreciation of them leads him to take pleasure in this propagation of the idea of The Child's Book-Plate.' (from text). At the end of the essay, Teall notes that he has personally designed and printed all nine of the samples included in the book. Gardner C. Teall (1878 - 1905) was a writer and artist, formerly editor of Good Housekeeping magazine and director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the New York Public Library.
