Louis Danz (1886–1950s), was an American amateur art connoisseur, writer, and psychological thinker based in California. In this work, Danz examines art from a psychological viewpoint, discussing how viewers and creators engage with visual forms, emotions, and meaning. The book includes a foreword by designer Merle Armitage. Fox was was a skilled bookbinder active in the L.A. area during the mid-20th century. He specialized in fine bindings for limited-edition and fine-press books, often working with prominent local printers and designers of the California fine printing movement, such as Ward Ritchie and Lynton Kistler.
