"After the Quake" (original Japanese title: Kami no Kodomo-tachi wa Mina Odoru — "All God’s Children Can Dance") is a collection of six short stories by Haruki Murakami. All the stories are set in Japan in the months immediately following the devastating 1995 Kobe (Hanshin-Awaji) earthquake, and they explore how ordinary people process trauma, loss, emptiness, and existential unease in its aftermath. First published in Japan in 2000, it was released in English as after the quake in 2002 (translator Jay Rubin notes that Murakami "insisted" the title "should be all lower-case").
