Amy Lowell (1874–1925) was an influential American poet, critic, and lecturer who helped popularize the Imagist movement in the early twentieth century. Known for her vivid imagery, experimental free verse, and advocacy of modern poetry, she published numerous acclaimed collections and won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry posthumously in 1926 for" What's O'Clock". Lowell played a major role in shaping modern American poetry and promoting the work of other contemporary poets. (BAL12982).
