Engraved portrait of Bancroft; maps (some folding); in-text illustrations. Publisher's three-quarter tan calf over marbled paper covered boards; gilt decoration on spines; gilt ruling; red and gree morocco spine labels with gilt lettering; marbled endpapers; all text block edges marbled. A solid, worn set. All hinges sound except Volume XXXIV front board holding by the strings, with small loss of leather at lower spine. General overal wear and scuffing, some staining to spines.
