"Renaissance in Haiti" was the first book about Haitian art and the artists who were to become the first generation of the art movement in Haiti, including the vodum priest, Hector Hyppolite and popular realist, Philome Obin. It documents many works and artists from the formative years of the Haitian Renaissance, some of whose murals and paintings were later lost or destroyed.
