The First Fascicle (March 1955) retains its original folded and stapled 10-page (5-leaf) publisher's errata booklet; the Second Fascicle (November 1955) retains its original Japanese colophon and two sheets of errata; and the 1956 report retains its single sheet of errata. Original cream printed stiff wrappers in very good to near fine condition. Our best research efforts tell us, there is no separate published Part II of the 1956 survey. A scarce and important collection of primary-source documentation relating to the Bikini and Eniwetok nuclear test program. Item #23339

These official Fisheries Agency publications record Japan's scientific investigation of radioactive contamination in the Pacific Ocean following the Castle Bravo thermonuclear test of 1 March 1954 and the contamination of the Japanese tuna fishing vessel Daigo Fukury Maru (Lucky Dragon No. 5). Conducted aboard the research vessel Shunkotsu Maru, the surveys represent some of the earliest comprehensive governmental studies of the environmental consequences of atmospheric nuclear weapons testing.
