A landmark early American edition bringing together two of Lenin's most consequential political works: Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism, his analysis of monopoly and finance capitalism, colonial expansion, and imperialism; and The State and Revolution, his influential examination of Marxist theories of the state and the role of revolutionary action in transforming it. The State and Revolution was written in 1917 amid the Russian Revolution and develops Lenin's interpretation of Marx and Engels on the state, class struggle, proletarian revolution, and the eventual “withering away” of the state.
