The Hurdy Gurdy

Boston: Dana Estes, 1902. First edition. Oblong 12mo (6 3/4" x 8"). 99pp. Charming full-page and in-text black & white illustrations by Jo J. Mora. Original grey cloth with blue and red decoration to spine and front cover, signed "J.W.R."; red illustrated end-papers. A very good copy of an early, scarce title illustrated by Jo Mora (wear to extremities; lower corner tips starting to show; front hinge starting to split; gift inscription; small red stain to lower front). There appear to be two first printings of this title with no stated precedence; one as described here (and believed to be the first variant binding) and the other a different size (8vo) with color monochrome illustrations.
