The postcard was sent to Miss Blanche Partington in 1939 from her friend who describes a tasty breakfast ('yum-yum!'), likely at the Carmel Dairy Restaurant in Carmel. Miss Partington (1866-1951) was part of "the Crowd," Jack London's circle of artistic / bohemian friends (as well as the lover of Ambrose Bierce). Item #8666
Jo Mora drew murals, calendars, and holiday greetings for the Dairy, usually in exchange for dairy services and products. In the late 1920's, he created two large murals and a smaller one for the walls of the restaurant, where the postcard was likely available for purchase. He also designed the Dairy logo, bottles and bottlecaps.
